Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Trains dealer sales personnel on all aspects of NPK Mining products
  • Serves as consultant between NPK Mining dealers and all associated NPK Mining departments
  • Assists dealers, end-users and attends trade shows, as required
  • Maintains dealer development by supporting dealer sales and product support functions
  • Compiles requested reports on a timely basis
  • Provides bi-weekly pre-planned travel itinerary
  • Build quotes and be available to add information for bidding projects i.e.: costing, labor estimating, drawing input, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Communication - Possess good and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Customer Service - Ability to deal with situations and individuals that are in distress due to issues with the NPK Mining products, possibly caused by non-NPK factors. Resolving these issues in a positive manner.
  • Initiative – Ability to make decisions with the best available information so as to resolve daily issues that are encountered.
  • Job Knowledge - Display high level of knowledge, always able to complete all normal job tasks independently and regularly assists others with high level of job knowledge.

Experience and Requirements:

  • College education and five years of experience in mining industry or related field

  • Basic knowledge of Windows based programs
  • Ability to travel overnight, as needed (up to 70%)
  • Some international travel will require valid passport.

Physical Demands:

Individual must be able to withstand demands of travel.  While performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to remain in a stationary position while operating their computer and performing office work. They constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and computer printer.  They must be able to exchange accurate information with customers and others in the office while interacting.  The individual must be capable of reviewing their work for errors and make adjustments as necessary.

Work Environment:

The individual will be exposed to various different environments from indoors to outdoors to underground depending on the job or mine site. Individuals are exposed to warm and cold temperatures based on season. The individual will be exposed to loud machinery or equipment. Due to the risk of electrical hazards while installing or servicing, additional personal protective equipment and procedures may need to be followed. Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment as situations dictate on various job and mine sites.  During warmer months, the required personal protective equipment may cause the employee to be very warm while working.
