District Sales Manager

North West United States


Responsible for all NPK sales related activity for assigned geographic territory. The North West Territory includes the following states: Alaska, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, and parts of Illinois, Michigan, and Missouri.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Trains dealer sales personnel on all aspects of NPK products
  • Serves as consultant between NPK dealers and all associated NPK departments
  • Assists dealers, end-users and attends trade shows, as required
  • Maintains dealer development by supporting dealer sales and product support functions
  • Compiles requested reports on a timely basis
  • Provides weekly pre-planned travel itinerary
  • Other duties as assigned

 Competencies:

  • Communication - Possess good and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Customer Service - Ability to deal with situations and individuals that are in distress due to issues with the NPKCE products, possibly caused by non-NPKCE factors. Resolving these issues in a positive manner.
  • InitiativeAbility to make decisions with the best available information so as to resolve daily issues that are encountered.
  • Job Knowledge - Display high level of knowledge, always able to complete all normal job tasks independently and regularly assists others with high level of job knowledge.

Experience and requirements:

  • College education and five years of experience in construction industry or related field
  • Basic knowledge of Windows based programs
  • Ability to travel overnight, as needed

Physical Demands:

Individual must be able to withstand demands of travel. While performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to remain in a stationary position while operating their computer and performing office work. They constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and computer printer. They must be able to exchange accurate information with customers and others in the office while interacting. The individual must be capable of reviewing their work for errors and make adjustments as necessary.

Work Environment: 

The individual will exposed to various different environments from indoors to outdoors depending on the job site. Individuals are exposed to warm and cold temperatures based on season. The individual will be exposed to loud machinery or equipment. Due to the risk of electrical hazards while installing or servicing, additional personal protective equipment and procedures may need to be followed. Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment as situations dictate on various job and construction sites. Due to exposure of machinery and electrical currents, employees are required to wear personal protective equipment. During warmer months, the required personal protective equipment may cause the employee to be very warm while working.
